Active Shield is a security utility meant to protect your computer from malicious software such as adware, spyware, trojans, dialers, keyloggers, etc. It offers you four levels of protection: custom (for advanced users), low, medium and high, where high stands for watch and ward system folders, autorun lists, processes, executable files, dynamic link libraries, browser settings and browser helper objects. You can manually add files to a white or black list in order to configure permissions for execution.
Pluses:
Drawbacks / flaws: The program doesn't include a scanner, so, in case you want to scan your system you need to purchase the "True Sword" malware scanner. It doesn't include email or instant messaging protection. It also lacks cookie control, ad blocking, cache cleaner and the logging section needs improvement.
In conclusion: Extremely few features and not a very competitive product (compared to other software, it secured my computer against one threat out of three threats blocked by other programs). A poor program, I would say, and also expensive compared to other antivirus/anti malware solutions.
